Kitchen Cleaning Tips You’ve Never Thought Of

How to Clean Your Quartz Kitchen Countertops
Organize
Use organizational funnels for things that accumulate on your countertops, such as
• Mail bin
• Key rack
• Baskets
Sweep
Clear crumbs off your quartz kitchen countertops by using a
• Plastic pastry scraper
• Old credit card
• Gift card
Run it over the surface of your counter, sweeping crumbs into your hand or into the sink.
You can use your scraper to lift of caked-on food too: Spray the spot with a cleaner (see below) and let sit for 3-5 minutes. Scrape off the residue, and wipe clean with a moist sponge or towel.
Eliminate Bacteria
Spray your counters with a germ-killing cleaner that’s safe for your quartz kitchen countertops (like Honest Company Multi-Surface Cleaner, 409 Stone and Steel Cleaner, or Mrs. Meyers Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner.) Then, dry with a microfiber cloth – which fights streaks and bacteria growth.

Cleaning the Kitchen Floor
Mopping
When you mop, pay special attention to the corners by “hand mopping.”
Place your hand into an old sock and spritz with cleaner. Run your hand over the floor along the walls and into the corners where dirt and dust can accumulate, and the broom often leaves grime behind.
‘Washing’ Appliances
Refrigerator
Mix together equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle as a food-safe cleaner which you can store on your refrigerator door. Use the spray to clean up spills in your fridge as they occur.
Dishwasher
Fill a dishwasher-safe cup with vinegar (about 6-8 oz.) and place the full cup on the top rack of your empty dishwasher. Run the dishwasher on the hottest and longest cycle – this will sanitize your unit as well as loosen the lime deposits, food buildup, and soap scum.
Microwave
Fill an 8 oz. cup with water and place it in the center of your microwave. Heat uncovered until the water starts to boil (about 1 minute.) The steam will loosen any old, caked-on food so you can wipe it off faster with a sponge or towel.
Sparkling Stovetops
Glass
To clean cooked-on stains off a glass cooktop, use a single-edged scraper or blade. Soak the stain in the strongest cleaner your cooktop can handle, letting it sit for a few minutes to loosen the grime. Next, scrape slowly, firmly, and carefully, holding the blade at a 30-40-degree angle. Finish by wiping the cooktop with a clean towel.
Gas
You can run the metal grates from your gas cooktop through the dishwasher regularly to keep them sparkling clean.
Electric
You must unplug electric cooktops before removing the burners. Then, you can wipe them clean carefully with a moist sponge, avoiding the electric prongs.
Making Cabinets Like New
In Front
Make a paste of baking soda and water to buff out stains on your painted cabinet. Apply the paste onto the stain with your fingers, and let it sit. Wipe away the paste with a damp cloth and buff the cabinet dry.
Inside
Empty out your kitchen cabinets at the start of every season and give the inside a good spray and wipe. Use a toothbrush to get into the corners and crevices where dust and crumbs can accumulate.
Vadara Quartz provides quartz kitchen counter tops which are not only beautiful and enduring – they are also stain and chemical resistant. In lab testing, household chemicals such as ammonium chloride showed no visible effect on Vadara Quartz, and the countertops remained stain-resistant after 24-hours of contact with Coca-Cola, red wine, black coffee, and orange juice.
